Bobby Gene Wright of Athens, passed away on March 17, 2023, at age 74.
Mr. Wright was a Vietnam Veteran in the Army, before he went to trade school to learn welding, that turned into a long time career at SteelCase where he retired from in 2010. He loved to watch the Brave’s play baseball, and spend time with his family and grandchildren, and teach at Evans Road Church of Christ.
His family will be visiting with friends on Thursday March 23rd from 5-7p. At 6pm the Honor Guard will be presenting honors for all to witness. This will take place at the Vietnam Veterans of America building at 17915 W Elm St Athens, AL 35611.
Mr. Wright’s wishes were that no flowers be sent, and instead make donations to the Vietnam Veterans of America building fund.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Wright; sons, Nathan (Eloisa) and Titus (Rachel) Wright; daughters, Shelaine Anders and Shaneon Mitchell; brother, Sammy Wright; and grandchildren: Hannah Anders, Clarisa Wright, Colton Wright, Hazel Wright, Simon Mitchell and Haddie Wright.
Preceding him in death is his mother, Carrie Mae Williams.
