Bobby Gene Skidmore, 84, Sheffield, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. A private service will be held for the family with Larry Kilpatrick officiating.
Bobby was a member of Tuscumbia Church of Christ. He was a founding member of Colbert Heights Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his father, Owen Skidmore; mother, Artie McRight Skidmore; and brothers, Levi Skidmore and Nelson Skidmore, all of Spruce Pine.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Nora Ann Gooch Skidmore; son, Steve Skidmore (Philecia); daughter, Pam Lenz (Terry); grandchildren, Jana Faires (Jason), William Lenz (Destin), and Caleb Lenz; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee Lawson, Kailyn Lenz, Kayden Faires, and Nathan Lenz.
Pallbearers will be Steve Skidmore, Terry Lenz, Jason Faires, William Lenz, and Caleb Lenz.
The family offers special thanks to “The Best Neighbors in the World”, Alan and Melinda McVay; Dr. Brad McAnalley; the numerous servants from Hospice of North Alabama; Carolyn and Tannie from Brother’s Keeper Companion Care; and Sherry Sutton with NACOLG.
