Bobby Gene Newton, age 88, of Florence, AL passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, owner of Bobby Newton Auto Sales, and a member of Meadow View Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lewis and Fannie Ward Newton; one sister, Lerlie Tarpley; two brothers, Robert Earl Newton and Charles Newton; and son-in-law, David Haddix.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Balentine Newton of Florence, AL; one daughter, Teresa Haddix of Nashville, TN; step-daughter, Regina Hamm (Steve) of AL; step-son, Steven Bradley (Kristie) of AL; two grandchildren, Amy Mashburn of Nashville, TN, and Lindsay Strong of Franklin, TN; five step-grandchildren, Addie Grace Green (Jack), Kutter Bradley, Levi Bradley, McKenzie Hamm, and Haley Hamm (Brady), all of AL; four great-grandchildren, Clara King (Hunter) of Nashville, TN, Emma Bailey (Joshua) of KY, Maxwell Strong of Franklin, TN, and Metea Strong of Franklin, TN; three step-great-grandchildren, Kaden Bruce, Christopher Roddy, and Addilyn South, all of Florence, AL; two great-great-grandchildren, Elliott King and Thatcher King; two brothers, Joe Newton (Faye) of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Harold Dean Newton of Ethridge, TN; his beloved dogs, Charlie and Bo; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 12:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
