Bobby Gene Montgomery, 73, of Russellville, Alabama, passed away at his residence on July 8, 2017.
Born in Russellville and having lived there all his life, he was a retired pipefitter with the Russellville Gas Board and a member of Tharptown Baptist Church.
Visitation for Mr. Montgomery will be Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from noon until 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville. Services will follow in the chapel of the funeral home with Thomas Thornton and Lee Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville. Pallbearers will be Ryan Rogers, Kyle Rogers, Tanner Montgomery, Josh Willis, Mark Mitchell, and Tyler Green.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Wanda Montgomery; children, Dondi Montgomery and wife Brenda, of Muscle Shoals, Kim Rogers and husband Lee, of Tuscumbia; and Shane Montgomery, of Russellville.
Surviving siblings are Jeraldine Mansell and husband Bill, of Decatur; Dot Vinson and husband Billy, and Sherrie Cummings and husband Donnie, all of Russellville. Eight grandchildren also survive him, Casey Montgomery, Tanner Montgomery, Ryan Rogers, Kyle Rogers, Eli Montgomery, Cainan Montgomery, Alex Montgomery, and Kelsey Montgomery; along with two great-grandchildren, Austin Montgomery and Noah Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Ruth Cummings Montgomery.
Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
