Bobby Gene Chaffin, 83, resident of Stiversville Road, died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Signature Health Care.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Lynnwood Cemetery with Joel Love officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Born September 14, 1934 in Giles County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Chaffin and the late Sally McKissick Chaffin. A lifelong tobacco and vegetable farmer, Mr. Chaffin also was a truck driver for several years.
Survivors include his sisters, Joanne Pigg of Stiversville; Peggy (Lane) Thrasher of Columbia; nieces, Regina (Jeff) Lucas; and Diane Williams; and nephews, Daryl Thrasher; Kenny Pigg; and David Pigg.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Fay Chaffin.
Active pallbearers will be Daryl Thrasher, David Pigg, Kenny Pigg, Eugene Archer, Phillip Brasfield, Lane Thrasher, Larry Thompson, and Jimmy Thompson.
