Bobby Gene Balentine, 83, of Florence, passed away, Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Visitation will be Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Macedonia Church of Christ. The funeral service will immediately follow with James Senn officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Bobby was a native and lifelong resident of Florence. He was retired from the City of Florence where he was a Civil Engineer. Bobby was a member of Macedonia Church of Christ where he was a former song leader at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Cecil Balentine Sr. and Pearl Lee Balentine; four brothers; one sister.
He is survived by his brother, Rod Balentine; sisters, Nita Threet, Rachel King, and Etta Balentine; a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Hayes, Jerry Balentine, Pete Gregory, Jeff Threet, David Crossley, and Haustin Wiles. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Hatcher, Bill Batson, Todd Sullivan, David Looney, Paul Haralson, Brett Harkins, and Ken King.
