Bobby Gene Rochester Bobby G. Rochester, 85, died at his home, with his wife and family members at his bedside. He was born October 20, 1937 in Leoma, TN., the son of Hosey R. Rochester and Mae Bell (Bobo) Rochester.

Services will be held at Shelton Funeral Home in Decatur, AL.
Friday 10/7/2022
Visitation begins at 10:00am with service at 11:00am.
Burial will be at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, TN. At 2:30pm
Randy Berry will be officiating.

Bobby attended Culleoka High School and attended MTSU in his early years sponsored by General Electric.

He retired from General Electric as Plant Operations manager in 1992 after 32 years of service from the Mufreesboro, TN. and Columbia, TN. plants

Bobby married the love of his life, Jean, December 4, 1954 in Iuka, MS. Where they eloped with Jean’s brother, Cleo (Dorothy) Griffy. This December would have made 68 years together.

Bobby loved his family, the Lord Jesus, his church family and his many friends. Spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was his joy. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Fishing, farming, yard work and camping were just some of the activities he enjoyed.

He attended Austinville First Baptist Church in Decatur, AL. He loved his pastor, Randy Berry and the family of FBC.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Griffy Rochester, son Robert Doyle (the late Teresa) Rochester of Decatur, AL., son Michael Dirk (Ayesha) Rochester of Culleoka, TN., daughter Sandra (Randy) Thomason of Decatur, AL., son Randy (Debbie) Rochester of Marion, NC.
Grandchildren, Chris (Lori) Rochester, Kelley (Cory) Wells, David (Emily)Rochester, Kimberly (Tyler) McKenzie, Joseph (Brianna) Rochester, Emilee Rochester, Bryan Sircy, Jessica (Sean) Holder, Amanda (Justin) Cagle, Joseph (Brooke) Rochester, Jessica (Ben) Owenby, Jason (Laura) Rochester, and 18, soon to be 21 great-grandchildren. Brother Charlie Royce (Mary) Rochester of Monroe, MI.
Sister-in-law Pam Rochester of Annandale, VA. Also, many cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Don Rochester, sister
Lona Beard Westmoreland and brothers-in-law Ronald Beard and Windell Westmoreland.
