Bobby Duane Thomas, 90, born March 28, 1933, passed away at home August 29, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Susie Faye Bailey Thomas; parents, Marvin and Catherine Russell Thomas, one brother Russell Thomas and one grandson Dalton Adams.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marcia McGuire Thomas, two sons Greg (Mandy) Thomas, Mark (Kelly) Thomas, one daughter Para Stewart, ten grandchildren Amber Thomas, Lindsay (Grant) Mullins, Valorie Reynolds, Whitney (Brian) Gillispie, Andrea (Robert) Syfrett, Chynna (Josh) Green, Preslee (Ken) McDonald, Brittney Crawford, Joanna (Will) Knapp and Brock Thomas, and 36 great-grandchildren.
He was an US Navy Veteran proudly serving from 1950-1954 in the Korean Conflict. He happily told everyone he had been halfway around the world.
Mr. Thomas was a faithful Christian of Market Street Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Friday September 1, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Saturday September 2, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. with David Cox, Greg and Mark Thomas officiating at McConnell Memorial Chapel.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brock Thomas, Edwin Holder, Joey Thomas, Guy Stewart, Jeffrey Bailey, and Mark McGuire.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Rhodes, Jimmy Bailey, Bobby Zirbel, Jason Bailey, Dale Jaynes, Kenneth Simmons, Brad Zirbel, Larry Bailey, Lance McGuire, and Clay Pierce.
