Bobbie Lucille Murphy was born in Florence, AL, on August 5, 1933. She passed away September 30, 2024, at Traditions @ Brookside Assisted Living in McCordsville, Indiana. She was 91 years young. Bobbie was married to James Oliver “Ollie” McGee on February 21, 1950. At the time of his passing, they had been married 66 years. Bobbie was truly loved and had many friends especially at Brookside. Her best buddy, “Ollie” her little teacup poodle was by her side until the very end. Anyone who knew Bobbie could confirm that she was spunky and spirited. You always knew what she was thinking. She was sweet and sour candy. Some of her pearls of wisdom included: “Can’t never could do anything”, “If everyone is doing it, it’s probably wrong”, “Don’t drink, or smoke or do drugs”, “Go to church and worship God”, “Hard work won’t kill you or I would have been dead a long time ago!” She was a wonderful wife and mother. She was ahead of her time when it came to nutrition and exercise. While raising her family she always made sure they had fresh eggs, home grown beef, garden raised veggies and no soft drinks, always lots of milk, water, and juice. She was known for homemade jelly and mustard greens and flowers. Bobbie was a very thoughtful person and always had a little gift for those she loved. She loved her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids. She was very proud of them and was always bragging on them to anyone who would listen. She truly cherished every call, card, and interaction with them. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Ollie” McGee, her son Wade McGee, her daughter, Alice Brake, her grandson, Trent McGee, and her great granddaughter Gracie McGee, and her parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, and uncles, and cousins, she was the last member of the family. She is survived by her daughter Victoria (Ronald) Brake of McCordsville, Indiana, her son Joey (Edith) McGee, Hawaii, and son Joel (Lori) McGee of Florence, AL along with her all her grandkids.
