Mrs. Bobbie Jean Patterson of Hazel Green went to be with the Lord on Friday evening. She was 90. Mrs. Patterson was a devout follower of Christ and a long-time, faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Born and raised in Hazel Green, Mrs. Patterson was one of 15 children.. She was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clyde “J.C.” Patterson; Her daughter, Gail Posey; Her sons-in-law, Nolan Layne, Willard Hale, Johnny Posey and Wayne Hazelwood; her daughter-in-law, Gwyn Patterson, and her 14 siblings.
Surviving family members include her children: Roger Patterson, Sherry Stewart, James Pat Patterson, Debbie (Mike) Folsom, Guy (Sharon) Patterson, and Pam Layne; She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Lon Ostrzycki and Pastor Joel Carwile officiating. Burial will follow and will be in Charity Cemetery.
