Bobbie Jean Martin, age 81, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Burns Nursing Home.
Bobbie was born on February 06, 1943. She married the love of her life, Raymond Martin, when they were just teenagers and they enjoyed 50 years together. Bobbie was a devout Christian, a loving wife, a devoted mother, and grandmother. She worked for 25 years at West Elementary School in the cafeteria. She attended church at Duncan Creek Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Bobbie was a great cook, a great seamstress, and loved her grandpup, Daisy Mae. She loved to sing and even in her later days of dementia she still remembered the words to those gospel hymns she had sung all of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Raymond O. Martin; father, Willie Frank Wilson; mother, Hazel Wells East; and brother-in-law, Earl Lawson.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Tammie Hall (Rickey), Penny Stidham, Ginger Harris (Jason); grandchildren, Chasity Hall Jackson (Steven), Justin Hall (Rachel); Chance Hall (Martha), Heather Watts (Vic), Caleb Wade, Sadie Wade (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Mattie Watts, Peyton Watts, Rhett Jackson, Reed Jackson, Hazel Hall, Iris Hall, Fletcher Hall, Avalyn Hall, Silas Hall, Sawyer Hall, Amos Hall, Lily Wade, Owen Wade, Waylon Stancil; siblings, Billy Wilson (Glenda), Connie Lawson, Betty Mathis, Ann Campbell (John); and several nieces & nephews.
The visitation will be 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Chance Hall speaking at the service. The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Caleb Wade, Justin Hall, Vic Watts, Rhett Jackson, Reed Jackson, and Steven Jackson.
