Mrs. Bobbie Goodwin Segers Bobbie Goodwin Segers, 88, of Arab, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Segers was born May 16, 1934 in Walker County, Alabama, the daughter of M.L. Goodwin, Sr. and Annie Long Goodwin. Mrs. Segers has been a resident of the Arab area since 1960. She was employed as head cashier at the Arab Electric Cooperative until her retirement. She and her husband, Glenn Pettus Segers, have been married for 66 years.

While working full time and being a loving wife and mother she still found time to be involved in many of the important things in life. She loved traveling, especially to the Smoky Mountains and to the beach. She loved to cook and loved tending to her many flowers. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of Arab First United Methodist Church and thoroughly enjoyed her Sunday School Class, Class of our Redeemer.

Mrs. Segers is survived by her husband of 66 years, Glenn Pettus Segers, her two children, Michael Glenn Segers (Kristie) and Kaye Segers Stricklend (Billy). She is also survived by her grand-daughter, Katlyn Stricklend Caldwell (Mark), and great-grandson, William “Will” Mark Caldwell, and her siblings, Charles Goodwin (Gaye) and Betty Ayers; and several nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver, Gayla Shedd.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, M.L. and Annie Goodwin; brothers, Archie Goodwin and M. L Goodwin, Jr.; and sisters, Margene Goodwin, Kathleen Jones, and Mary Faye Phillips.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Arab, Alabama. Services will immediately follow at 2:00 at the Church. Interment will be at Arab Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Nicky James and Rev. Mike Shirley will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be Mark Caldwell, Ted Green, Robert Angel, Richard Embrey, Jeff Chapman, and Mark Brazelton. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeff Ayers and Marty Phillips.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Arab First United Methodist Church’s building fund.
