Bobbie D. “Doghouse” Hester, age 82, of Tuscumbia, AL, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 5:30-7:30 PM at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Service will be Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 12:00 PM in the chapel. Officiating will be Brother Larry Kilpatrick and Dr. Joey Gafford. He was a member of Cox Boulevard Church of Christ, graduate of Belgreen High School, a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean War. He retired from Reynolds Metals after 30 plus years of loyal service, a mason, and a member of the UNA Sportsman Club. Bobbie was a avid lover of sports and Bluegrass Music.
He is preceded in death by parents, Harvey and Selma Hester.
Survivors are wife Betty Hester, daughters; Tina Gafford (Joey) of Grenada, MS, Donna Hester of Florence, AL, grandchildren; Joe Gafford II and Fiancé, Stefani Dobbs, Kayla Gafford, Joshua Gafford, brothers; Rogers Hester of Russellville AL., Gene Hester (Lois) of Russellville AL., sister; Brenda James (Howard) of Russellville AL, and a host of loving nieces and nephews and other family members,.
Pallbearers will be Joe A. Gafford II, Joshua A. Gafford, Timmy James, Jeffrey James, Alan Hester, and Dr. Joey Gafford.
