Funeral services for Rev. Bob Wade Watson, age 86, will be held on Friday December 22, 2023 at 2 PM in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home in Trenton, TN. with Rev. Thomas Fortner officiating. Burial with Naval Military Honors will follow in Oakland Cemetery, serving as pallbearers are Philip Watson, Joel Twyman, Jeff Pulley, Jessie Sanders, Tim Young and Adam Young. Visitation with the family will be Friday December 22, 2023 starting at 11 AM until service time at 2 PM.
Rev. Watson was born on November 3, 1937 in Trenton , TN to James E. and Nadell (Bailey) Watson and passed away on December 14, 2023 at Marion, KY at the Crittenden Community Hospital.
Rev. Watson was a graduate of Peabody High School and a United States Navy Veteran. Upon his release from the Navy he moved to Chicago, Il where he received a call from the Lord , was saved and he decided to become a minister. Mr. Watson enrolled in Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree and began preaching Gods Word. Rev. Watson worked with seven different churches over the years stating at Calvary Baptist church in Woodburn, IL, Sturgis Baptist Church in Sturgis, KY, 1st Baptist Church in Knox, IN, Bible Baptist Church in Union City , TN, Calvary Baptist Church in Crayne, KY, Blue Grass Baptist Church in Lexington, KY, and his last Church was Faith Baptist Church in Jackson, TN where he considered his membership.
Rev. Watson was preceded in death by: his wife Ernestine (Beakley) Watson; his parents James and Nadell Watson: and two Sisters Maxine Watson and Wilma Heuwart.
Rev. Watson is survived by: a daughter Dianna Hinton of Marion, KY a brother Joe Watson of Trenton, TN; and two grandsons Adam Young of Nashville, and Timothy Young of Henderson ,KY.
