Bob Hardin, 83, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Mississippi. He was born in rural Franklin County, just north of Red Bay in the Shiloh community, and was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He was owner of Hardin Air Conditioning and Refrigeration for over 40 years and a certified electrician. He had served as inspector for the City of Red Bay.
Services will be today, 11 a.m., at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Alabama, with Brother Bobby Massey and Brother David Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Burnout Cemetery, Vina, Alabama. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his high school sweetheart and wife of 66 years, Jean Davis Hardin; three children, Alan Hardin (Anita Hardin), Debi Hardin Falls (Wade Falls), and Suzan Hardin Howard (Allen Howard); five grandchildren, Nash Hardin (Cayla Hardin), Ashley Hardin, Charli Hardin, Emma Howard, and Lexi Howard; and five great-grandchildren, Britley Hardin, Addie Kate Hardin, Sim Holley, Lida Jean Beasley, and Lucy Lee Hardin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nash and Laurena (Gillette) Hardin, and five siblings, Dovie Emerson, Jim Hardin, Chester Hardin, Tiny Gober, and Marley Mae Thorn.
Pallbearers will be Alan Hardin, Nash Hardin, Joseph Jackson, Hal Keeton, Kenny Hamilton, Chuck Cashion, and Mike Bohannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Falls, Allen Howard, Jerry Newell, Robert Emerson, Robert Thorn, James Hardin, Charles Hardin, Nathan Johnson, Belton Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Sidney Tesseneer, Mack Williams, Carl Lewey, and Donald Gober.
Visitation was Monday, Aug. 28, 6-9 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama.
