FLORENCE-A full field of collegiate anglers is set to compete in the 2020 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. Scheduled to take place on Pickwick Lake in Florence, AL June 10th-11th, this will mark the 15th year of this event. 206 boats will compete for two days to see who will be crowned National Champion.

“It’s exciting to get out on the water and host competitive fishing events again. Demand has never been higher in the sport, as these young anglers are eager to go fishing,” said Wade Middleton, Director of the Association of Collegiate Anglers. “We will have strict social distancing measures in place throughout the week, and our staff will be working diligently to ensure a safe and successful tournament is conducted.”

24 of the Top 25 teams in the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia have registered at least one team to compete. Though the main story at Pickwick Lake next week will be the Championship event, the School of the Year race will also be a primary focus. The winning team will earn 1,500 points for their respective school, with the opportunity to add double points for their next highest-finishing team inside of the Top 125. The final event of the year promises an exciting conclusion to the 2019-2020 season.

The event will be held from Tuesday, June 9 through Thursday, June 11 on Pickwick Lake at McFarland Park.  The anglers will launch their boats at 6:30 AM each day.
