Bishop J. E. Perkins, age 52, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a native of Nashville, TN, Bishop at Greater Tabernacle Missonary Baptist Church and a member of Greater Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Madie Smith Perkins.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Greater Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 320 Susanne Street, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted at Mt. Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 2911 Stokers Lane, Nashville, Tennessee at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 22, 2015, with Apostle Stanley Garrett officiating. Bishop Perkins will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, TN. Family suggests donations be made to Bishop Scholarship Fund at Greater Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
