Birdie Mae Reece age 86 of Athens, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Reece was born June 25, 1928 in Limestone County, AL to Oscar Pitts and Dora Simpson Pitts.
Services will be Monday, June 15, 2015 3:00 p.m., at limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Dora Pitts; brothers, J.D. Pitts, Harold Pitts; one great-grandson, Jackson Holt.
Survived by her husband, Cecil Reece of Tanner; one son, Cecil Jerry Reece and wife, Elaine of Reid; one daughter, Pamela Reece Aaron and husband, David of Loudon, TN; four grandchildren, Lynn Malone, Jai Reece, Joshua Aaron and Elijah Aaron; seven great-grandchildren, Presley Holt, Calen Reece, McKenna Aaron, Maddie Grace Aaron, Annabelle Aaron, Caleb Aaron and Asher Aaron; one sister, Opaline Powers; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Aaron, Elijah Aaron, Jai Reece, Mahlon Nixon, David Malone and Jason Shackleford.
