Billy Wayne Dooley, 76, of Cherokee, passed away on December 30, 2024. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 1, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee. The funeral service will be Thursday, January 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the burial following in Cherokee Memorial Park.
Billy was a native of Iuka Mississippi and long time resident of Cherokee. He worked as a logger and was an avid Auburn fan. He was a member of Airport Misson Baptist Church. Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae Dooley; daughter, Teresa Dooley; and his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Billy is survived by his granddaughter, Brittany Dooley (Bartley); brother, James “Pole” Harold Dooley; sister, Brenda “Red” Grissom; care givers, Betty and Bobby Lambert; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Hamm, William Hamm, Andy Aday, Casey Lambert, Tony Borden and Bartley Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Lambert, Cody Lambert, and Joe Lambert.
