Billy Wayne Collins, age 59, of Culleoka, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at his residence.
Billy was born on August 24, 1956 to Jack Collins and Lois Frost Collins in Maury County, Tennessee. He was married to Patty Thomason Collins on February 23, 1981. They were married for nearly thirty-five years and had a great life together. Billy Collins Backhoe was the name of the company he owned and operated for twenty-seven years. You would be hard pressed to find a more hard working man.
In addition to being hard-working, Billy also had a playful spirit. He especially loved playing with his hot-rods. He also loved to joke with his family and was known as the “family instigator” – he relentlessly teased everyone. Most of all he loved his granddaughters.
Billy is survived by his loving wife: Patty Thomason Collins of Culleoka; sons: Randall Collins and Stephen (Heather) Collins both of Culleoka; granddaughters: Chloe Helms-Collins and Lilly Ann Collins; sisters: Patricia (Andy) Luttrell and Cynthia (Michael) Wiseman both of Culleoka; brothers: Donald (Patty) Collins of Mt. Pleasant, Glenn (Debbie) Collins of West Virginia, Jackie Collins of Culleoka and Mike (Brenda) Collins of Mt. Pleasant; brothers-in-law: Charles Thomason and Andy (Betty) Thomason; and several nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jack Collins and Lois Frost Collins; siblings: Jimmy Collins and Diane Collins Estis; nephew: Donald Collins, Jr.; brother-in-law: Jodie Luttrell, Richard Thomason, and Gary Estis; and sister-in-law: Vickie Thomason.
