Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 for Rev. Billy “PawPaw” Joe Wise, Sr., went to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Rev. Danny Battles and Rev. Bruce Walker will officiate with burial to follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct. Rev. Wise was the founder and pastor of Word of Life Church, Attalla, Alabama. He enjoyed traveling and spreading the gospel. He was an avid fisherman and a true entrepreneur having owned and operated several business through the years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Cornutt Wise; daughters, Karen Lynn Wise Bowen and sons, Timothy John Wise, Sr. and Billy Joe Wise, Jr.; granddaughters, Stacy Wise Andrews and Brandi Nicole Wise and grandson, Justin Shawn Bowen, Jr., sisters-in-law, Kate and Nellie Wise. Left to cherish his memory is his grandchildren, Jennifer, Omar and Bentley Villanueva, Selena, Isabela and Angel Wise, Blake and Kylie Wise, Tim, Dalton, Haven and Jameson Wise, Shane, Andrew and Jacob Wise, Karen and Barney Dingler, Randall Graham, Shianne and Lacy Wise, Hannah, Anthony, Lilly, Connor, William, Abel and Ansleigh Blake, Alyssa Crain, Yolanda and Emma Nance, Derrick Bowen, Jenna, James, Emrey, Sean, and Rhionnan Pickle and Erica Deerman; brothers, Marion Wise and Fred Wise, Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John Stoddard, Zack Taylor, Jonathan Nance, Skylar Barnett, Kenneth Vincent and Darrel Roden. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Blake, Omar Villanueva, Randall Graham, all present and former church members, staff of 7th Floor South at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Special thanks to, Minyon Crain, Tidmore Bend Volunteer Fire Department, Katie Hefner, the late Jim Hefner and Rev. Danny Battles. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Monday Night at the funeral home.
