Billy Norris DurmOn Sunday, August 8th, 2021, Billy Norris Durm, loving husband, father of two children, Gramps to three grandchildren, and four great granddaughters, passed away at the age of 73.

Billy was born, May 23rd, 1948 in Winchester Tennessee, to Edward and Edith Norris Durm. He graduated from Franklin County High School, in 1966. He retired from Jack Daniels after 33 years of service. On October 22nd, 1966, he married Barbara Jean Evans. They lovingly raised two boys, Troy and Greg.

Billy was a long time member of County Line Church of Christ. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved playing softball, golf, woodworking, going out to eat with family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed the annual cousins trips. He truly enjoyed, sitting in the stands, watching his children and grandchildren play sports, but he truly loved being in the dugout coaching. He loved his family, with all of his heart and soul, and one of his granddaughters, held a little extra spot of love in his heart, Erica, her Gramps, was, and forever will be, her best friend. He loved watching her play basketball and loved when she was in the dove field sitting close to him. He loved watching Ashley play basketball, constantly bragged on how amazing she is as a Momma, and special education teacher. He said to me many times, Ashley is such an amazing, loving person, I’m just so proud of her. He loved watching Chewy play football, baseball, and basketball, but most of all he loved our annual opening dove hunts together and was always bragging on what an athlete Chewy is and how amazing he is as a daddy. He loved spending time here at the house, with Momma, playing with and watching his beautiful, great granddaughters, they all had a special place in his heart, and at any given time, you’d see one of them setting in his lap, helping him farm on his iPad. He loved my Momma with every ounce of his heart, and if you saw one, you saw the other. A perfect picture of what a marriage is supposed to be. Greg and I were blessed with the most amazing daddy in the world, and we spent so much time together, hunting, fishing and on the baseball field, we all were truly blessed to have this amazing man in our life’s. He loved music, and you could always hear him whistling, and humming songs. He had a way of making everyone laugh, his smile was infectious, and you couldn’t help but smile, when you were around him. He had a kind, loving and compassionate spirit, and was loved by all that knew him.

Billy was preceded in death by his daddy, Edward, and his mother Edith. Two sisters, Joan Baker, and Judy Walrond. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, of fifty four years.
