Mr. Billy McDowell, age 87, of Martin Avenue, Boaz, died on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.

Service will be held at McRae Chapel on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Six o’clock p.m. with Bro. Chris Bartlett and Bro. Morrell Upchurch officiating. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Noon in the Beulah Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.

Mr. McDowell was born in Marshall County, Alabama on May 13, 1932 to Alfred Marion & Willie Delilah Wilder McDowell. He was a retired building contractor and a truck driver. He was a welder of fire engineer installations up the east coast, the demolition of buildings, house mover and a contractor of residential and, commercial buildings and churches across Marshall and Etowah Counties. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing and riding his “Gold Wing” motorcycle with his wife.

Mr. McDowell is survived by his wife of 68 years: Willowdean Scott McDowell of Boaz, Daughter: Charlotte McDowell Williams of Albertville, Daughter-in-Law: Shelia Sue Salter McDowell Grandchildren: Amy McDowell-Williams and Tim of Boaz, Angie Moore and Donny of Blountsville and Bengy McDowell and Staci of Boaz, Great Grandsons: Chase Williams, Caleb Williams & Hailey, Christian Moore, Jacob Moore, Cade McDowell and Cooper McDowell, Great Great Granddaughter: Kinleigh-Blake Williams, Brother: Gerald McDowell of Boaz He was preceded in death by his Parents, his son: Alan McDowell and Son-in-Law: Bro. Tommy Williams, and Brothers: Rev. Charles McDowell and Kenneth McDowell.

Pallbearers will be his Great Grandsons: Chase Williams, Caleb Williams, Christian Moore, Jacob Moore, Cade McDowell and Cooper McDowell.
