Billy Massie Brown, 80, former resident of Carpenter Bridge Road, died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Harold Delk officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery in the Hardison Mill Community in Maury County. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Born January 11, 1937 in Maury County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Massie E. Brown and the late Ruth Hardison Brown. He was a 1955 graduate of Columbia Central High School and on June 3, 1955, he married Juanita Faye Anderson Brown who preceded him in death March 26, 2013. He served in National Guard from 1955 – 1958. Mr. Brown was a retired self-employed truck driver and farmer, where he hauled milk and later in life hauled steel. He loved farming and enjoyed raising cattle. Mr. Brown was a member of New Lasea Church of Christ.
Survivors include his children, Chris (Darlene) Brown of Parsons; Kent (Dee) Brown of Bath Springs; Becky (Anthony) Ray of Columbia; sisters, Martha Hood of Columbia; Barbara Willems of Slidell, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Bonnie McMahan of Florida; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristy) Brown; Kevin (Amy) Brown; Kyle (Courtney) Brown; Jessica (Darrell) Blankenship; Samantha (Brian) Wilson; and Declan Ray; fourteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Brown, Kevin Brown, Kyle Brown, Declan Ray, Darrell Blankenship, and Keith McMahan. Honorary pallbearers include Brian Wilson, Darrell Warren, Wayne Cook, Joe Ballard, Brian Willems, and Patrick Willems.
