Billy Lamar Terry, 80, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at his home in Pontotoc. Billy was born in Pontotoc County on June 28, 1943, to Boss and Odeia Franklin Terry. He worked in the furniture industry and was a member of West Heights Baptist Church in Pontotoc. Always the jokester and master storyteller, he loved training, breaking, and showing horses. Billy enjoyed people watching and eating breakfast and lunch with his lifelong friends. Most of all he loved spending time with his loving wife, daughter, grandsons, and great-grandchildren.
Billy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bobbie Walls Terry; his daughter, Tonya White(Jock) of Randolph; grandsons, Ryan White(Mikki) of Pontotoc and Cory White of Randolph; 3 great-grandchildren, Lowery, Townes, and Cadden White; his brother, Bobby Jo Terry of Germantown, TN; his sisters-in-law, Betty Anderson, Brenda Keen, and Beverly Willard(Randy); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Rex Terry; brothers-in-law, Les Anderson and Larry Martin; sister-in-law, Judy Terry; and his niece, Michele Anderson.
Services will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 3PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Greg Herndon officiating. Visitation will be Monday, July 24th 5-8PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home and Tuesday, July 25th 12PM until service time. Burial will follow in West Heights Cemetery in Pontotoc.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Akers, Mike Grist, Rickey Hall, Brent Harrelson, Michael Terry, and Mike Westmoreland. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Martin and Lowery, Townes, and Cadden White.
