Billy Joe Williams passed away on October 3, 2024 at age 83. The Graveside Service is 2 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. before the Graveside Service. Grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers.
Billy Joe Williams was born in Lebanon TN to Merla Lois Tarpley Williams and Sammie Baker Williams. He served in the United States Army from 1959-1962. Later in civilian life, he worked in airline maintenance and retired from American Airlines after 30 years. Billy Joe loved fishing and baseball and feeding his family from his vegetable garden. He played on several baseball teams, including Dupont, the company he worked for at that time. He was a member of The Barn Church.
Billy Joe is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Boulton Williams, parents Lois and Sammie Williams, and brothers Sam, Paul, John, Merlin, Bob, Fred, Terry, and Doris Williams. He is survived by children Debra (Tim) Gillespie, William (Nancy) Fish, Billy (Kim) Williams, Donnie (Cindy) Williams, and Ronnie Williams; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother: George Williams; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
