Billy Joe West, age 77, passed away July 24, 2017. Visitation will be today from 1-3 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Wayne Gean and Brother Dennis Oakley officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery.
Billy Joe was retired from Southern Ready Mix in Florence. He loved camping and the outdoors especially enjoying sitting on the front porch and visiting with family. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Mary West, and sister, Lois Moomaw.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Virginia West; children, Wade West, Phillip West (Tammy), Danny West (Kim), and Keith West (Rhonda); grandchildren, Jeremy Nichols, Amy Reed, Amanda Howard, Jennifer Cantrell, Heather Parrish, Justin West, Nathan West, and Katelan Creasy; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ernest West, David West, Faye Graves, Judy Gladney, Larry West, Jerry West, and Joyce Oakley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Nichols, Tim West, Nathan West, Justin West, Michael Heupel, Jacky West, Tony Cox, and Jay Lovelace.
