Funeral service for Billy Joe Watson, age 62, of Lacey’s Spring, will be Thursday, December 11, 2014, 2:00 .m. at Lacey’s Spring United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Benefield officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service.
Mr. Watson, who died Saturday, December 6, 2014, at his residence, was born May 3, 1952, in Decatur, to John Burton Watson and Alma L Hasting Watson. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jimmy Ray Watson and Cecil “Dago” Watson, and one sister, Betty McCravy. He was a machinist.
He is survived by three sons, William Andrew Watson of Tuscaloosa, Joseph Adam Watson of Baytown, TX, and Roger Bain Watson of Athens; one brother, Paul Watson of Somerville; three sisters, Joyce Lovell of Hartselle, Judy Davis of Decatur, and Frances Taylor of Houston, TX; and three grandchildren, Ezekiel, Addison, and Aubrey.
