Billy Joe Vann, Jr., known affectionately as Joe or JoJo, passed away suddenly on March 6, 2024 in Pinson.Joe was born on November 7, 1979 in Jackson, TN, son of Kathy Rouse Vann and the late Billy Joe Vann, Sr. He was a graduate of South Side High School in the Class of 1999. He worked for Garrett Plumbing and Heating Co. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish all year. He also loved hanging out with his friends. He brought a smile to everyone who was around him and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Vann, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Kathy Vann of Pinson; his sister, Ashley Vann Roberson (James) of Pinson; his girlfriend, Elizabeth Wentzell; his half-sisters, Joyce Rogers (Dennis), Shirley Reddinger (Brian), and Sarah Forton (Justin). He is also survived by his two best friends, Josh Murchison (Belinda) and Michael Sheffield (Courtney) both of Pinson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 10 a.m. – 1p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Jonathan Tubbs officiating. Burial will follow in Bear Creek Cemetery near Pinson.
