Billy Joe King Billy Joe King, 81, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, at his home.

Mr. King lived in Ardmore for the majority of his life where he was a member of Boyd’s Chapel Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed getting together with his friends weekly to play Dominos and Pinochle. He also enjoyed setting up a booth and selling antiques at The Longest Yard Sale. He served with the United States Air Force from 1961 until 1965 where he worked as an Aircraft Load Master. After his time in the service, he became an advocate for the Ardmore Veterans Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. King and Mable Davis King, his wife, Donnie Mae Bedwell, as well as four brothers: Lonnie King, David King, Ricky King, and Lee King.
Survivors include two brothers; James Calvin (Pattsy) King and Roger King, three sisters; Martha (Vernon) Thomas, Kathy (Deverl) Nave, and Renee Wales, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many beloved friends.

There will be a visitation held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama. A Funeral Service is scheduled the following day, Friday, April 12, 2024, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with service time beginning at 2:00 PM. Bro. Carl Evans will officiate. Burial will follow in Pettusville Cemetery.

The family would like to sincerely thank Hospice of North Alabama for their care.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Ardmore Veterans Group.

Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting with services.
