Mr. Billy Joe Campbell, 86, of Huntsville, passed away on Monday. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was known as the owner and operator of Campbell’s Store Equipment and Campbell’s Meats. He was inducted into the East Coast Drag Racing Hall of fame and loved fishing in his free time.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Marcia Jean Moneymaker Campbell; his son, Marty Joe Campbell; His parents, William Judson Campbell ad Willie Mae Lee Campbell; His siblings: Alvie Campbell, J.W. Campbell, Sue Cambell Hill, Alice Campbell Perry, and Jean Campbell McGaha.
Surviving family members include his daughter Kim (Kyle) Long; His sons: Pace Walker, Jae Walker, and Miles Walker; His grandchildren: Daniel (Erin) Campbell, Katie (Jesse) Fanning, Montana Walker, Brandon Walker, and Ciara Walker; His great-grandchildren: EllieAnna Campbell, Easton Campbell, Hadley Campbell, Gemma Campbell, Harper Campbell, Theo Fanning, and Owen Fanning. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and by special friends, Bill & Melissa Bates.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10am at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
