Billy James Wallace 87, of Florence, AL passed away peacefully with his family by his side, December 1,2024.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Shelvy and Roxie Wallace, his brothers, Aaron and Bobby Wallace, sisters, Alma Ruth Glover, Evelyn LaRue, and his great granddaughter Brylee Kate Carter.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy (Vaden) Wallace, his daughter, Sherry (Danny) Wheeler, and son, James Gary Wallace. Grandchildren, Andrea (Jason) Carter, Holly Wheeler, Blake (Dena) Wallace, Kiana (Mike) Kirkland, Kayleigh (Tyler) Grissom, and 8 great grandchildren with one on the way; Dean (Jon) Jackson, Dorothy (Sonny) Balentine, Maxine (AD)Robinson, Patricia Sharp, Glenda (Wayne) Bevis.
After his retirement from Ford Motor Company, he found more time to pursue his interest in his passion for cars and tractors. He enjoyed spending time with his friends restoring antique vehicles attending car and tractor shows, while sharing his knowledge with others, especially his son, whom he taught him everything. A devoted husband and dad, a favorite granddad, a friend, and a true southern gentleman. Billy was baptized at Cannan Methodist Church where he will be laid to rest.
A graveside service will be on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Cannan Methodist Church.
