Billy James, 61, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at his residence. He was born in South Bend, Indiana, and was a truck driver. He was a member of Golden Central Baptist Church and served in the National Guard.
Services will be Saturday, May 23, at 2 p.m. at Golden Central Baptist Church, with Brother Jerry Ginn and Mike Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery, Red Bay, Alabama. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Sherry James, Red Bay, Alabama; two sons, Bradley James (Undrea), Russellville, Alabama, and Gary James (Jennifer), Red Bay, Alabama; three grandchildren, Devin James, Dakota Davis and Ali Davis; his mother, Faye James, Golden, Mississippi; two sisters, Barbara Wiginton, Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Marti Page, Red Bay, Alabama; and one brother, Keith James, Golden, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill James, and his grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Jim Young, Tommy Neil, Charles Ashley, Rudy Collier, Steve Bostick and Thomas Armstrong.
Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 6-9 p.m., at Golden Central Baptist Church.
