Billy Hogan Smith, 89, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Elk River Health and Nursing Center in Ardmore, Tennessee.
Mr. Smith has lived in the Ardmore community his entire life where he was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Ardmore. He was an advocate of the Lions Club as well as the Freemasons. After retiring from the U.S. Postal Service, he worked at First National Bank of Ardmore, Tennessee. In his free time, Mr. Smith enjoyed working on small engines and piddling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Smith and Gracie V. Hogan Smith, as well as two sisters, Dean Smith and Angeline Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jurene Smith, two sons, Bruce Smith and JoJo Smith, one daughter, Susan (Jeff) Allen, three grandchildren, Matt Allen, Grace Smith, and Kaylie Smith, as well as two great grandchildren, Peyton Allen and Tristen Allen.
The family has made plans to have a private service at a later date for Mr. Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
