Billy H. Knight, Sr. – Obituary

Billy H. Knight, Sr., died Sunday, September 5, 2016, at his home. He was born February 23, 1940 to Mr. Herman Allen Knight and Mrs. Lena Mae Gordon Knight. He was a graduate of Dublin High School. Mr. Knight also served his country as Staff Sergeant for the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a member of the American Legion. He spent 42 years as a Service manger for Case IH where he later retired. He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. His hobbies included coin collecting, playing golf, repairing and restoring old tractors and cars, and served as a little league football coach. He enjoyed growing tomatoes and attending to his vegetable garden but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren.
Services will be 12 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Harrisburg Baptist Church with Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie Harmon Knight; two daughters, Lisa Knight Cannon (Mark) and Kim Knight Smith (David) all of Saltillo; two sons, Bill Knight, Jr. (Carol) of Marks, Scott Knight of Saltillo; eight grandchildren, Breanne Cannon Tull (Tyler), Billy Knight, III (Elizabeth), Sarah-Lindsay Knight, Chandler Knight, Preston Knight, Peyton Knight, Hunter Smith (Rachel) and Eric Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Carter Knight, Colesie-Anne Knight, John-Eli Tull, Paxton Tull, JuliAnne Tull, Emma Jaymes Smith and Jackson Smith; one sister, Jean Knight Sneed (Robert) of Marks; one brother, Charles Knight (Sue) of Clarksdale; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Lynn Knight and Brenda Carolyn Knight Sullivan; two brothers, Herman Wesley Knight and Jerry Wayne Knight.
Pallbearers will be Billy Knight, III, Chandler Knight, Tyler Tull, Tim Pritchard, Hunter Smith, Eric Smith, Chris Jenkins and Preston Knight.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Peyton Knight, John-Eli Tull, Carter Knight, Paxton Tull, Jackson Smith and members of the Saltillo Volunteer Fire Department.
