Billy George Roberts – Obituary

BillyBilly George Roberts, age 72, formerly of Birmingham, Ala., passed away Friday, March 15, 2013.
Born March 4, 1941, in Lynn, Ala., to Gaynell and George Roberts, he graduated from Lynn High School in 1959. He was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church, of Natural Bridge, Ala.
Billy will be especially remembered for his quick wit, his love of Alabama football and the tenaciousness that allowed him to want to help others.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Roberts Gaskin (Kevin), of Haleyville; his granddaughter, Elaine Gaskin Frix (Lee), also of Haleyville; sister, Betty Bryan (Wally), of Lynn; niece, Katrina Boteler (Joey); nephew, Don Bryan (Tina), great-nieces and nephews, Kala Stookey (David), Paige Boteler, Rex Bryan and Heath Simmons
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Concord Missionary Baptist Church, of Natural Bridge, Ala. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, Ala.
Memorial contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church, of Haleyville, Ala., or Concord Missionary Baptist Church, of Natural Bridge, Ala.
