On October 22, 2024, Billy Frank Todd, age 90 of Alder Springs, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, after a brief illness. He was born January 3, 1934 to Shirley B. and Lee Todd. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Peggy Gunnells Todd. He is also survived by his four children, Susan Cook and Phillip (Beth) Todd, both of Albertville, Pam (Larry) Walden of Guntersville, and Jon (Amy) Todd of Russellville, KY, 10 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, and two sisters, Athene Gray and Jan Burke.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Gerald Todd, Wayne Todd, Quilla Roden, Doris Smith, and son-in-law, Danny Cook.
Billy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1953 through 1957. He worked many years for Word and Boggess Construction as a project manager. He was a minister and served as pastor at Eidson’s Chapel and Alder Springs Presbyterian Church.
His passions included his faith, his family, farming, making sorghum syrup and passing that knowledge on to others.
Reverend Dean Timbes and Reverend Donald Baugh will conduct the Funeral Service on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, Friday from 11:00 AM until funeral time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shepard’s Cove Hospice or the Alder Springs Cemetery Fund.
