A Graveside Funeral service and Interment for Billy Don Ryan “Big Daddy”, 91, will be Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Herring Cemetery with Bro. Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No Visitation is scheduled.
Mr. Ryan passed away on Friday, April 18, 2024 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born January 22, 1933, in Morgan County, to Issac Dolph Ryan and Maudie Cryer Ryan.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving 2 years, after being drafted to service in the Korean War. Mr. Ryan was a cattle farmer, who enjoyed fishing and bird hunting. He was employed by Monsanto for 38 years and 3 months, in the Spinning Department and Maintenance, prior to his retirement.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Martha Hutzler, two brothers, J.H. Ryan and I.D. Ryan, and an infant granddaughter, Taylor Ryan.

Wife – Linda Ryan
Sons – David Ryan (Shari)
Patrick Ryan
Daughter – Kelley Hughes (Jackie)
Three Grandchildren- Sarah Hughes, Travis Hughes and Caleb Ryan.
Pallbearers will be Travis Hughes, Caleb Ryan, Jackie Hughes, David Ryan, Patrick Ryan and Mitch Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
