Billie Marie Davis Cherry – Obituary

Billie Marie Davis Cherry, age 71, passed away during the night on June 8, 2018 at Maury Regional Hospital ER in Columbia after being transported from NHC Maury Regional nursing home.

Born on June 7, 1947 in Florence, Alabama, Billie was the daughter of the late Watkins Buford “W.B.” Davis and the late Marie Antoinette Izzo.  She was a 1965 graduate of Williston High School in Williston, Florida.  She was the owner of Billie’s Beauty Shop in Culleoka, Tennessee for many years.  Billie was a retired REALTOR who believed in expanding her education as shown by achieving her GRI, CRS, CRB and Broker designations.   She was the owner and broker at Action Properties for years until the company was sold to Coldwell Banker.  She was the managing broker of Coldwell Banker Barnes and RE/MAX Elite.  She enjoyed reading, playing cards, chess, playing the piano, and working jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters:  Marie Antoinette “Annette” Cherry of Columbia and Michelle Raye Cherry Sampson of Spring Hill;  son-in-law: Jeffrey Franklin Sampson of Spring Hill;  sister: Francine Davis (John) Scott of Hermitage, Tennessee; nephews: John (Jill) Scott of Hermitage, Tennessee and Lee (Naomi) Scott of Anahola, Hawaii; twin grandsons: Ryan Franklin Sampson and Taylor Ray Sampson of Spring Hill; and the father of her children: Ray J. Cherry.

Billie had previously made arrangements with Heritage Funeral Home of Columbia.  The family will be honoring her wishes with no service and by having her remains laid to rest in the mausoleum at Maury Memorial Gardens.
