Billie Louise Barnes, age 77, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Monday, July 8, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 1:00PM on Friday, July 12th, with Rev. Jesse Fleck officiating. Burial will follow at 2:45PM in Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison with Hunter Barnes, Noah Sutton, Douglas Briley, Stephen Adams, Coleman Brumley, and Marty Patton serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.
Mrs. Barnes was born on December 26, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Bruce & Mildred Downs Patton. She was a homemaker and worked as an accounts receivable clerk in the finance business. She also worked for Greylines Tours, Opryland, and as the Ashland City Methodist Church Secretary. She loved to fish, travel, and spoil her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Patton.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Ernest Barnes, Jr.; son, Jeffrey (Angela) Barnes; daughter, Dana (Dylan) Mills; brother, Larry (Sherrie) Patton; sisters, Judy (Ron) Guenther, Sherrie (partner, Mike) Halpin, Lisa (Steve) Cantrell, Diane (James) Pennington, Kathy (Jeff) Lyle, and Kim (Bobby) Bush; grandchildren, Paige (Stephen) Adams, Hunter Barnes, Ashley (Douglas) Briley, Sara (Coleman) Brumley, Noah Sutton, Chloe Sutton, and Joshua Mills; and 5 great-grandchildren.
