Billie Kathryn Hoobler, of Jasper, passed away on November 18, 2021, at the age of 90, after a decline in health caused by a COVID infection.

Billie spent her career in retail management where she enjoyed socializing with customers and friends with a smile and a story. In retirement, she enjoyed time spent with her family and playing bridge with her friends. Billie spent the last four years under the care of her loving son, David Hoobler, who passed away on September 6, 2021, also from his battle with COVID. The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff of Southeast Hospice for their care and support during Billie’s final days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse “Buddy” Hoobler; son, David Hoobler; grandson, Chris Hoobler; parents, W. C. and Grace Swindle; stepmother, Lois Swindle; and sister, Helen Morris.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Williams (Ricky) and Jim Hoobler (Jan); daughter-in-law, Nan Hoobler; grandchildren, Bryan Hoobler (Brandi), Jarrod Lee (Michelle), Jessika Hoobler Ellison (Warner), Jimmie Ann Hoobler Helmbold (Alan), Jonathan Lee (Daisy), Josh Lee Sr., Kevin Williams, Steven Hoobler, Tracy Williams Ellis (Andrew); many great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

A private service will be held at the family’s request. Memorial donations may be made to Big Oak Ranch (250 Jake Mintz Road, Gadsden, AL 35905) or Walker Area Community Foundation (P.O. Box 171, Jasper, AL 35502).
