Billie Jean Senter Matthews, 71, was born on August 25, 1953, in Tupelo, Mississippi, departed this physical world on October 4, 2024, at her home. She worked as an insurance adjuster for USF&G Insurance company in Tupelo, MS as well as Dallas, TX before retiring. Billie Jean was an avid animal lover along with having a passion for Music, Native American history and causes, politics, and religion. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family is honoring Billie Jeans wishes to not have a public funeral.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with assisting the family.
She is survived by her sister, Lana Senter Gann, of Tupelo, her nephew Jim Gann, his wife Emily and their daughter Madison all of New Albany.
Billie Jean was preceded in death by her parents, William R. (Billy) Senter and Frances Burns Senter, both of Fulton. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Charles Lee Cantrell of Mantachie and Tony Matthews of Fulton.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ASPCA or the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society, two organization close to Billie Jean’s heart.
