Billa “Bubbles” W. Wilde, 92, of Huntsville, passed away early Monday morning in the comfort of her home, with family present.

Born in Akron, OH, Billa Wayne grew up in Hartselle, AL, and attended Florence Teacher’s College (University of Florence). While attending college, she met and married John L. Pittman of Hollywood, AL. She and John were world travelers with the US Army. Two trips were to Germany, where they had three children. Billa and John were stationed in Hawaii, Virginia, Georgia, and Kentucky. Billa raised four children while her husband fought for our freedom in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Billa was a telephone operator, played the piano, and loved to sing. She sang at Hartselle’s Tabernacle with her brother Jimmy. Karaoke was her favorite pastime. She supported the American Legion where she made many friends.

Survivors include her children, Lisa Pittman, Robin Kastanakis (John), Michael Pittman (Lesia), and Shelly Pittman; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
