Bill Lewis – Obituary

Bill Lewis was born February 26, 1935 in Dent County, MO the son of the late Alva and Aeta Lewis.

He was united in marriage to Florence L. Gray, who preceded him in death on August 14, 1996, following 30 years of marriage.

Mr. Lewis worked as a building/refrigeration engineer for Quaker Oats Company in Jackson for 25 years. He served his Country honorably in the United States Navy for 7 years. Mr. Lewis enjoyed following NASCAR; his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Lewis was a member of New Beginnings Church.

Mr. Lewis departed this life on May 29, 2017 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 3 Months, 3 Days. He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Swinford and husband Robert of Potts Camp, MS and Tina Jones and husband Tim of Selmer, TN; a son, Wayne Lewis and wife Tracie of Milan, TN; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey Lewis and Thurman Lewis.
