Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Bill Gilliam, age 70 of Decherd. Mr. Gilliam passed away on the morning of Tuesday January 28, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Gilliam was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart to whom he was married for 49 years. He was retired from Kroger’s meat department as a butcher following more than 23 years of service. He was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish in the days before his health began to fail. Mr. Gilliam is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Diana Church Gilliam; his mother and father; several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Todd Gilliam of Decherd; grandchildren, Kristie Owens and Harley Owens; brothers, David Gilliam of Manchester and Ronnie Gilliam of Alto and three sisters. The family will receive friends at Watson-North Funeral Home Thursday January 30, 2020 between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North at 2 p.m. Friday January 31, 2020. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
