Bill Elrod, 92, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born in Franklin County, AL and worked in logging for sixty-five years. Bill was a member of Trinity Assembly of God.
Services will be Sunday, February 27, 2 p.m. at Trinity Assembly of God with Bro. David Kelley and Cory Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by five children – Glenn Elrod (Carolyn), Larry Elrod (Gail), Donnis Elrod, Charlotte Bates (Steve) and Tammy Tucker (Ronnie); ten grandchildren – Sheena Brewer, Amy Quinn, D.J. Elrod, Jake Elrod, Josh Elrod, Cory Pruitt, Britni Coates, Maggie Bates, Savannah Bates and Mason Bates; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother – Bobby Elrod and one sister – Helen McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Edward and Maggie Bohannon Elrod and two wives, Mae Nell Elrod and Lucy Elrod.
Pallbearers will be Cory Pruitt, Jake Elrod, Josh Elrod, D.J. Elrod, Mason Bates and Ayden Pruitt.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 26, 5-8 p.m. at Trinity Assembly of God.
