COLBERT COUNTY-When hundreds of motorcycle riders, from throughout the country, begin arriving at Rattlesnake Saloon and Seven Springs Lodge, it will literally be a dream come true for Clarence Swinea.
Swinea, driver of the shuttle truck at Rattlesnake Saloon, had a dream about organizing a motorcycle rally. When he awoke the next morning, Swinea went to work organizing Bike Rally in Valley. His dream comes to fruition Friday, Aug. 14, when the two-day rally begins at the saloon and lodge on Mt. Mills Road, south of Tuscumbia.
“It’s going to be big. We have people from all over who have said they are coming,” Swinea said.
His daughter, Anna Roden, event coordinator for the rally, said bikers from as far away
as Ohio and southern Florida have indicated they will attend.
“Dad knows a lot of bikers through his work at Rattlesnake Saloon. He has been wanting to do something for the bikers. Bikers are a very giving, hard-working bunch. They are always doing something to help out in their communities,” Roden said. “This rally is for the bikers. They can come hear some great music, see a lot of bikes, have fun, see old friends and make new ones.”

Threds’ concert will feature the release of their latest album.
Activities on Saturday, Aug. 15, include a bike show at 10 a.m., tire toss at 11 a.m. and keg push at 4 p.m. BackDraft will perform at noon followed by Southern Legends at 4:30 p.m. and Chad Bradford Band at 9 p.m. A fireworks show begins at midnight.
Admission is $40 on Friday and $25 on Saturday and is limited to 21 and older. Participants can bring their own beer. Glass containers are not allowed. Alcoholic beverages will not be sold.
Rattlesnake Saloon customers will not have to pay rally admission to visit the saloon. Jarred Pierce will be performing at Rattlesnake Saloon Friday, Aug. 14 with BackDraft performing on Saturday, Aug. 15.
