F.12.13.23 Beverly Light.jpgBeverly Kay (Foust) Light died on December 5, 2023. Born on July 3, 1941, to Robert and Virginia Foust, Beverly was the eldest of two children.

She is survived by her daughter, Lezlie (Scott) Shelton; her sons, Douglas and Bradley Light; her two granddaughters, Hannah and Emma; and her brother, Robert B. Foust. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Douglas Light.

Beverly’s positivity, energy, and caring nature extended far beyond her immediate family. She practiced her passion for nurturing children by working with preschoolers, and eventually launching her own daycare center. As an active member of the community and church, she dedicated her time to finding the goodness in others, and to always leaving a positive impression. A longtime resident of Indiana, she spent 12 years in Florence, Alabama, before settling in the Memphis area. She will be remembered for her love of family, faith, and imagination; her determination to remain true to herself; and her capacity for hope.

There will be a private ceremony for close family to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to J. Everett and Louise Light Scholarship through Kappa Delta Pi organization. Please mail donations to Kappa Delta Pi, P.O. Box 681008, Indianapolis, IN 46268-7008.
