Beverly Joy Wright, 67 of Dora, passed away at her residence on December 18, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday December 21, 2024, at New Horizon Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 pm. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens.
Beverly was born to the late Mack and Dale Fredrick. She is also preceded in death by two nieces Heather Marie Shipp and Savannah Stroud.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years Terry Wright, children Michelle Wright, Jennifer Wright Cohn (Adam) and Adam Wright; grandchildren Braelyn, Brentley, Brooklee and Bronner Wright and Hudson and Isaac Cohn; her siblings Wilma (Kenny) Fields, Willie Stroud, and Carla Parsons along with several nieces and nephews.
Beverly grew up in West End, Alabama, but later moved to Forestdale, where she lived with her parents and three sisters. She attended Minor High School and graduated in 1975.
She met her husband, Terry, while in high school. They were married in January of 1975 and spent close to 50 years together. After her high school graduation, she and Terry began their family. She spent many years at home raising their three children.
In 1990, she began her career as a Child Nutrition employee for Hillview Elementary in Jefferson County. For over 30 years, she enjoyed working and preparing breakfast and lunches for the students and school employees. In 2022, she retired as a CNP Manager for Brookville Elementary.
Beverly was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling across the country with her husband, visiting places such as Savannah, GA, the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, and various state capitals. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
