Beverly Jane Nance, 80, lifelong resident of New Albany, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at her residence. A Memorial Service honoring the life of Mrs. Nance will be held at First Baptist Church of New Albany on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 10AM. A private family burial will be at a later date.
Born February 23, 1943 in New Albany, Mrs. Nance was the daughter of the late Robert and Chasta Whiteside Henderson. She was a graduate of W. P. Daniel High School and was a dedicated employee of The New Albany Dairy for many years before working with The Department of Human Services until her retirement.
A devout Christian and member of First Baptist Church of New Albany, Mrs. Nance enjoyed hosting numerous church events with her “Prayer Warrior” Sunday School class. She was known as a “God Fearing Christian” that took care of not only her family but her church family. Mrs. Nance will also be remembered for her love of gardening, cooking each grandchild their favorite dessert and living the “Simple Life”.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Tracy Smith Booth (David) of D’Lo, MS, one son, Kelly Nance (Jennifer) of Ingomar, one brother, Robert Henderson (Dorthy) of New Albany and seven grandchildren, Aston Smith, Tyler Smith, Kyle Booth, Braxton Booth, Morgan Nance, Mallory Nance and Maggie Nance. Preceeding her in death was her husband for 62 years, Troy Butler Nance.
